Comic Book News This Week

  • DC has released the cover art for Blackest Night #8 (of 8). Its currently due Wednesday, March 31 and has 10 extra pages for the same $3.99 cover price;
  • If you missed it during the Jimmy Kimmel Oscar Special Sunday night here's the new Iron Man 2 Trailer Robert Downey Jr. brought with him;
  • Gail Simone is leaving as writer of Wonder Woman and J. Michael Straczynski is taking over it and Superman in July;
  • The CW's Smallville has been renewed for a tenth season;
  • The Green Lantern movie will be released in 3D next summer on June 17, 2011;
  • Dark Horse Comics has donated 5000 copies of its Mass Effect #1 comic to U.S. troops around the world. In other Mass Effect news, DC Direct will be releasing action figures this August.
  • 12 new episodes of Futurama begin airing in June on Comedy Central.
